Flower (also called bud) is the smokable, trimmed and cured part of the cannabis plant — still the format most people start with and most dispensaries stock deepest. Every strain is classified as an indica, sativa, or hybrid, each with its own aroma, flavor and effect profile. If you already know what you like, jump straight to the strain — Weedyy maps every flower listing to its strain profile.
Flower is sold by weight: a gram, an eighth (3.5g), a quarter (7g), a half (14g) or an ounce (28g) — and the price per gram drops as the size goes up. Around Los Angeles, an eighth runs $10–$90: house and value brands at the bottom, indoor top-shelf from growers like Alien Labs and Fig Farms at the top. "Smalls" and "big buds" are the same flower in different bud sizes, and usually the best deal on the menu.
Don't shop on THC percentage alone. A well-grown 22% eighth with loud terpenes will beat a flat 30% one for most people — check the harvest date and the certificate of analysis on every Weedyy listing, and use the price index to spot listings priced above or below your market. New to it? Start with a single gram or a pre-roll before committing to a quarter.
Flower is the dried, cured bud of the cannabis plant — the raw, unprocessed format. It's typically ground and smoked in a pipe, bong or joint, or vaporized in a dry-herb vaporizer. Everything else on the shelf (vapes, extracts, edibles) starts as flower.
An eighth is 3.5 grams — enough for roughly 5–7 joints. In the Los Angeles market it runs $10–$90 depending on the grower and grade. For occasional sessions an eighth typically lasts one to two weeks.
It's shorthand for expected effects: indicas lean relaxing and after-dark, sativas lean energizing and daytime, and hybrids sit in between. The strain's terpene profile matters more than the label — check the strain page on any listing for the specifics.
Most flower tests between 15–30% THC. Beginners do well at 15–20%; above 25% is strong even for regulars. Potency is only half the story — terpenes shape the character of the effect, so a lower-THC strain you love beats a high-THC one you don't.
Smalls are fully trimmed buds that are just physically smaller — same potency, lower price. Shake is the loose flower that collects at the bottom of bags, best for rolling. Both are smart budget picks when they come from a grower you trust.
Airtight glass, cool and dark — not the freezer, and not a plastic bag long-term. Stored well, flower keeps its flavor and potency for 6–12 months. If it smells like hay or crumbles to dust, it's past its prime.
